Joe Chavarria – Director
Mr. Chavarria is the Director of the SBDC at Gulf Coast Community College. He has over two decades of Operational Management and Leadership training skills from the US Air Force. His expertise is in Workforce Education and Development. Areas of counseling are in Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Customer Service.

Valerie Simmons Valerie Simmons - Assistant Director/ Professional Development Coordinator/ Business Analyst
Mrs. Simmons is a business analyst.  She brings  24 years of experience as an accountant for small businesses to the SBDC.  She has provided services to ensure her clients’ successes over the years  in accounting, bookkeeping, taxes, financial planning and marketing.  She is also a business valuation specialist.  She  has years of experience in real estate brokerage and development.  She has been a successful entrepreneur in many types of profitable small businesses.  
Tony Zacchio Tony Zacchio - Business Analyst/ Director of The Veterans Business Outreach Center
Mr. Zacchio is a business analyst and also serves as Professional Development Coordinator. Mr. Zacchio brings extensive knowledge of banking to assist clients in various areas of business. Mr. Zacchio also conducts workshops such as Steps to Starting a Small Business and Business Plans.

Brenton Peacock - Business Analyst
Mr. Peacock is a Business Analyst. He brings over a decade of experience as a case manager and counselor at The Workforce Center to apply to his responsibilities as a Veteran Business Counselor. Mr. Peacock also has extensive marketing experience and well honed communication skills to assist clients in various areas of business.

Johnny Branch - Business Analyst
Mr. Branch has an MBA from the University of West Florida. He brings 23 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant and 15 years as a Restaurateur. Johnny has decades of "hands-on" business experience to pass on to clients, including accounting, tax liabilities, business start-up and more. Johnny will be conducting workshops such as Steps to Starting a Small Business, Taxes and Accounting, and Business Plans.
John Miller John Miller - Procurement Specialist
Mr. Miller assists clients in dealing with the Federal Government in terms of contracts, grants, and procurement.
Michelle Steele Michelle Darko - Administrative Assistant
Ms. Darko serves as the Administrative Assistant for the SBDC. She brings to the table a wealth of organizational skills and over a decade of customer service experience.
  Rebekkah Heaton - Coordinator of Marketing & Training
Rebekkah is responsible for scheduling, advertising and marketing the many courses available through the Small Business Development Center
